About your Reed & Barton Handcrafted Jewelry Box - From beginning to end, each jewelry chest is handcrafted using the finest hardwoods of poplar, ash and oak. Unibody construction begins with a six sided box from which lids and drawers are cut and kept together throughout the manufacturing process, insuring matching wood grain and consistent finishes. All woods are kiln-dried for moisture control and to eliminate warps or splits in the wood. More than 65 individual operations, many completed by hand, are part of the process. Each jewelry chest is hand crafted with care like a piece of furniture, with miter-and tenon joints for strength and durability, solid wood tops, mitered corners and hand rubbed finishes to reveal the natural luster of the wood. Elegant crush resistant linings are custom fitted for a tailored appearance and to provide protection for your fine jewelry for generations.
